3 main audiences:

> The community of transport experts in Europe, be they involved in social sciences and humanities, economics or policy research
> Transport operators, esp. intermodal transport actors
> Transport policy-makers, at the European, national, regional levels

3 main objectives:

> The COST 340 final conference will conclude and sum up 5 years of innovative research on intermodality and European transport history led in the 17 COST 340 countries. It is a unique opportunity to discuss with the COST 340 Action’s researchers the many policy-relevant issues that arose during the numerous meetings, reports and publications that marked COST 340.

> The conference should eventually define future research on intermodality, stressing on current results and prospects. It will plan a future agenda for research, with particular reference to the development of policy for developing intermodal transport across Europe.

> The conference will further the already extensive dialogue promoted by the Action between transport experts and researchers in the human and social sciences which is proving useful for planning the future of transport across Europe.
